There may come a time in our lives when a decision must be made whether to continue along the safe, familiar path one has established through life; or to strike out in an altogether new direction, without compass or guide, into territory perhaps fraught with peril, yet offering unprecedented opportunity for high adventure and growth in new dimensions one can only distantly imagine.

Such was the case for me in the year of 1999: I chose to take the path less travelled by. The time had come for a metamorphosis from my old self, Vernon L. Chi, into my new one, Leandra Vicci. On 1 June 1999 Vern legally became Lea, and now lives as Lea in all respects.
